Introduction

The purpose of this report is to outline the importance of social media marketing and analyze the different social media platforms, where most marketers promote their products and where most consumers follow them.

 

Results

According to the research data from the UK, Facebook is the most used platform, with a consumer follow ratio of 71%. It is also the most competitive place, since 65% of the companies promote their products there. YouTube follows with a 51% follow rate, but only 35% of brands have active campaigns on YouTube. Instagram ranks third with 49%, which indicates that almost half of the consumers will follow brands there. TikTok has a 38% follow rate and is ranked fourth, but it also has less competition, because only 39% of the marketers market their products on this platform.

 

Social Media Marketing: Benefits
Nowadays, social media marketing could be said to be the most important marketing strategy. More and more people use the internet to buy things and, more importantly, with the internet we can reach people that we could never reach in local places. So, we can expand our target group and expect a large number of sales.

 

Recommendations

What methods can we implement? Personally, I believe we could start with TikTok and YouTube for a simple reason. We do not have an online fan base, which means if we post something on platforms like Facebook or Instagram, there is a high chance that we could not reach anyone, because fewer and fewer people are willing to read posts from a completely new account. But if we post short videos on TikTok or YouTube, people do not really care about the number of followers.

 

Conclusion

In conclusion, it is essential to have an online presence since the importance of online marketing is increasing. No matter if we are selling digital or physical items, it is always worth starting to market online.
